October 2007 Chapter Meeting

October 15, 2007 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Excavations/Trenching: Updates, Issues, and Trends - Presented by United Rentals

The Soil is a real threat to human life when we excavate. Approx 40 workers die from trench cave-ins every year. OSHA has developed a comprehensive set of rules contractors must follow to ensure that workers are safe when entering an excavation. Sloping, shoring or shielding is the solution. With today’s available equipment, workers can be safe from cave-ins and be productive. The attendee will leave with a good understanding of requirement when excavating and the types of protective equipment available today and more... Come and learn how to play in the dirt....
