Visual Insurance Solution is a inspection service company that will be outsourcing Service Station inspections throughout the country. We will pay between $55 and $65 per inspection depending on experience and quality of work. Once you are at the gas station, the survey should only take .5 hours (1/2 hour). Entering the information into our website and downloading the pictures should take another .5 hours (1/2 hour) on average. Safety Manager (9/8/08)

The primary function of the Safety Manager is to champion and promote occupational health and safety awareness; and monitor that safety related functions, including risk assessments and training, are being satisfactorily completed on behalf of Management. The SAFETY MANAGER will also share safe work practices throughout our company and construction sites as appropriate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Compliance with Legal Obligations

  • 1.1 To advise and assist the Superintendents, Foremen and Supervisors and other persons involved in planning, organizing, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • 1.2 To develop the health and safety policies, organization and arrangements in consultation with Superintendents, Foremen and Supervisors.

3. Accident investigation and prevention

  • 3.1 To receive and investigate reports of accidents, dangerous occurrences and fire damage, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls.
  • 3.2 To monitor that all accidents are properly investigated, and that lessons learned are shared across the company.
  • 3.3 To maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences. Provide statistical summaries to the Corporate Management and the Safety Committee and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.

4. Training

  • 4.1 To identify the training needs of employees as per the trend analysis.
  • 4.2 To monitor employee training, and report on training targets to the Management and the Safety Committee.
  • 4.3 Ensure that all employees and subcontractors are inducted, as per the Company Safety Procedures and Training.

5. Work environment

  • 5.1 Ensure jobsites and work areas are risk assessed and planned and meet the required safety standards.
  • 5.2 Ensure they are involved at the planning stage of project work. Attend pre-contract meetings, progress meetings with project supervisors, contractors and other relevant meetings as required.

6. Proactive Monitoring

  • 6.1 Prepare and coordinate the safety audits, and the audit process. Monitor that audit recommendations are being implemented within agreed timescales.
  • 6.2 Monitor safety performance through internal audits and develop a Superintendents, Foremen and Supervisors proactive reporting system.
  • 6.3 Monitor accident trends accident investigation results and prevention activities to determine if the activities are meeting and impacting our needs.

7. Communication

  • 7.1 To be an active member of the safety committee Establish a reporting framework between the various committees, and provide regular update on progress to Management.
  • 7.2 Prepare periodic reports on progress with a defined management plan and other reports for management and safety committee.
  • 7.3 Develop a range of communication medium e.g., safety short talks display board etc. to ensure that Superintendents, Foremen and Supervisors are kept up to date with safety matters.
  • 7.4 To maintain effective communication with other employees

Senior Staff EH&S Specialist (8/13/08)

Our client, a leading oil and gas company, is seeking qualified candidates to provide full time environmental and safety support to an expanding business unit in the Rocky Mountains. This division is a strategic growth area for the company with operations in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This position will be based in Denver, Colorado.

The expectations for this position are as follows:

  • Ensure air permitting compliance for all facilities and audit compliance status on a periodic basis. Prepare and submit air permit applications for new or modified facilities, all required emission inventories, Title V annual and semi-annual compliance certifications, deviation reports, and other regulatory correspondence for all applicable facilities. Assist with the gathering of activity data necessary to inventory Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for preparation of the annual CHG inventory.

  • Ensure SPCC Plans are prepared in accordance with 40 CFR Part 112 for all applicable facilities. Conduct annual SPCC training for field operations personnel. Review equipment and secondary containment construction to adherence to facility SPCC Plan.

  • Make all necessary spill and release notifications to all the appropriate state and federal agencies. Provide technical assistance with the cleanup and sampling requirements to ensure compliance with applicable State regulations. Ensure spill and release reports are properly documented in the company incident database. Prepare trend reports for communication to Management of the Division.

  • Prepare and submit water and storm water permit applications for construction, drilling, work over/completion, and production activities. Oversee the compliance activities associated with the authorized discharge permits, including submittal of discharge monitoring reports, pollution prevention plans, and notice of terminations, as appropriate.

  • Provide environmental due diligence support on acquisition and divestiture activities. Review data room materials, research compliance information on State and Federal websites, assist in the preparation of contract language, and conduct Phase I and Phase II field investigations. Identify possible liabilities and associated costs for consideration by the Acquisition/Divestiture Team.

  • Coordinate and/or participate in periodic EH&S audits and inspections. In addition, participate in incident investigations and support the preparation of relevant documentation.

  • Maintain the Division Waste Management Plan to assure currency and applicability. Conduct and document third party waste disposal company audits to determine acceptable use.

  • Represent the Company in industry trade associations to promote the company’s position on EH&S issues. Offer innovative solutions to solve difficult issues in a team environment.

  • Interpret and stay abreast of EH&S regulations and advise Division of the mandated requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive applicable EH&S work related experience, preferably in the oil and gas exploration and production business

  • Strong working knowledge of EH&S regulations. Extensive understanding of State/Federal environmental permitting and compliance in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming

Supervision: Reports to the Executive Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to the Safety and Health Committee
  • Performs jobsite safety inspections using OSHA construction safety guidelines
  • Studies and researches changes in safety rules and regulations
  • Accompanies members and compliance officers on OSHA inspections
  • Investigates construction accidents
  • Helps coordinate the Fun Shoot (optional)
  • Assists in the sale and delivery of safety products and publications
  • Produces an annual safety fair and awards program
  • Submits a bi-monthly article to the Construction Leader
  • Markets and presents safety classes and seminars
  • Attends regular team (staff) meetings
  • Works with Controller to prepare event summaries
  • Maintains the SHARE program
  • Drafts safety programs
  • Participates in relevant Texas Building Branch and AGC of America.

Requirements: High school graduate with a working knowledge of the commercial construction industry. Good driving record. Certified First Aid, CPR, and Occupational Safety and Health for Construction (OSHA 500) instructor. Bilingual preferred. Helpful and courteous attitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Summary of Position:

  • Provide consultation in Occupational Health Risk Management.
  • Travel as part of a team to government and commercial client sites to conduct industrial hygiene, safety and occupational health evaluations and technical assessments. Return to the office to analyze analytical results and write reports. Approximately 40% travel.
  • Provide technical support to office personnel on Environmental Safety and Occupational Health related Issues.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with providing Air Force Bioenvironmental Engineering support required.
  • 5 years of Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Health and Safety Experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to assist and preparing reports.
  • Travel required; flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • Able to Wear a Respirator (29 CFR 1910.134)
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
